ROWAN TREE (the Sensitivity): full of charm, cheerful, gifted without egoism, likes to draw attention, loves life, motion, unrest, and even complications, is both dependent and independent, good taste, artistic, passionate, emotional, good company, does not forgive.

WEAKNESSES: Herbology, Potions
CREATURES:

Outward

HEIGHT: 1.8 m [6'1 1/2"]
WEIGHT: 83 kg [182 lbs]
HAIR COLOUR: Mid-brown; a sandy colour after exposed to sunlight for a period of time, darker in the winter
EYE COLOUR: Blue
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Dark Mark, some scars of various origin
APPEARANCE: Tall but not exceptionally thin, Owen is a very fit man from years of athletic activities, though not overly muscular or brutish. Fair-skinned as most British Isle inhabitants, he does tan easily when outdoors for long periods, and sun also can affect the color of his mid-brown hair, kept short but not ridiculously so. His blue eyes, usually a definite blue but sometimes blue-grey, are evenly set on his face beneath expressive eyebrows, his facial structure speaking of breeding, if not specifically what one would consider an 'aristocratic' face. Though his posture perfect, his gait is slightly heavier, indicative of his deceptive musculature beneath the lines of his clothing. His clothing style is vaguely Victorian at times, a personal improvement on wizarding robes that makes his attire unique and distinctive. All the better for attention, of course.
HABITS:

Inward

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Genial, flirtatious, a bit of a fop
PERSONALITY: A gregarious individual, Owen has an open (with the female gender, flirtatious) manner that often makes him a genuinely enjoyable person to be around. Rarely one to lose his temper even though he is not entirely docile, he often makes insults rolling off of him seem effortless. He is polite to a fault, even to his enemies, and has a way with words that draws individuals in, a skill that is often directed in his personal conquests. Flattery simply seems sincere from him, even if it is not, and insults are coloured with the same gentility. This appearance is not always entirely truthful however, for he can be quite glib with many, something which is often hard to distinguish despite the dishonesty of it. His loyalties are ultimately to himself and his own pleasures, but he does know the meaning of loyalty to others and can be loyal when it suits him.

Quite intelligent, he often revels in discussions about any number of topics, from art to blood politics. He has never been shy about openly discussing all sides in the Wizarding Wars, even when his part as a Death Eater was unknown to most of the world. He has the very useful ability of good debators in that he could easily argue both sides because he has taken the time to learn both, a product of his early childhood. It would be very hard to tell by speaking with Owen what his actual opinions are on most things and that suits him just fine as he rather likes the mystery. Mystery intrigues people and intrigued people are ones who pay attention.

He has never seen the need to openly acknowledge his opinions of Muggles and Mudbloods – the opinions exist, they are known to those who matter and even if he wishes the magical and Muggle worlds to be separated forever to correct what has become of them (in his first life it was to prevent this very thing), he has no qualm dallying with those of impure blood. To him, entertainment is far from declaring anyone a fit human being, no matter if it is socially entertaining or sexually entertaining – in the case of the former, he likes to be stimulated, in the case of the latter, a whore is a whore, as long as said whore is pretty, extremely willing and exceptionally talented.

Owen doesn't quite view Muggles like animals as other purebloods might; rather, he sees them as lesser beings akin to servants and slaves, there for his pleasure and entertainment if they must be there at all. He will converse with everyone, and quite pleasantly of course, but he does not expect anyone with significantly 'dirty' blood to be very stimulating. If they are, he regards it as an aberration surfacing for his personal amusement alone, as what other purpose do these lesser creatures have but to amuse him? He would never tell them so, for even he understands it would not be happily received, but the opinions exist just the same. It is not precisely easy to zero in on this opinion of his either, for it is covered quite well.

He thinks often in terms of what others can do for him, rather than what he can do for others. However, there is one exception and that is the Dark Lord. Owen is willing, able and eager to serve and that has not changed over the years. His loyalty is not given unless it is to someone he both greatly admires and is intensely jealous of, which quite fits the Dark Lord for Owen. A wizard with exceptional power, Owen both respects and resents this, but even that resentment is a useful trait for it is for that reason Owen constantly betters himself, providing the Dark Lord with a constantly-improving follower.

Without a doubt, Owen is a gentleman, with manners that would fit perfectly into a royal setting. It is this impeccable breeding and behaviour that often helps to endear himself to others as most respond well to the positive nature of these mannerisms. It serves his purpose to be so, not just because more flies are caught with honey, but because it is a source of attention. His happiest place is in the limelight and if he is not there, his discontent is palpable because he believes he deserves to be. He does not lose his temper often, as most insults or aggravating comments are seen by him as the result of a poorly-developed mind or personality, but when he does, his retaliation is decisive, though often delayed by his calculating nature.

However, hand in hand with his gentlemanly behaviour is a certain personal gentleness. It might seem a contrast given his Death Eater activities, but he can be quite gentle and careful and even exhibits an admittedly twisted form of chivalry with many – twisted in the sense it makes no sense to others but perfect sense to him. He has never willfully or on orders killed a child, because he believes that sort of behavior is beneath him and suited for the more thuggish of the Dark Lord's followers if such an action is deemed necessary by their Lord, and has also avoided killing women whenever possible – save female Aurors/Order/fighters, who he believes are fair game in a war because they are far from 'victims'. It is not that he particularly cares about any of them, as he really does not; what he does care about is his image. Child murdering would just not fit well with his perception of himself and what people see, and he knows it would not sit well with women if they thought it of him. However, with men this gentleness is far less if not entirely nonexistent, in part for masculine and homophobic reasons, and thus he has shown male victims no mercy in the past as he would have a child or female.

He is also unashamedly a bit of a dandy. While he is not openly derisive about Muggles themselves, he does openly proclaim his perception of their inability to make fabric and clothing properly. He does not allow Muggle clothing to grace his body or, in a strange quirk, the bodies of his bedmates because Muggle fabric gives him rashes. In reality, it is mostly mental, though he does have highly sensitive skin that magic spells woven into his clothing caters to, so he is very picky about what he wears.
STRENGTHS:
WEAKNESSES:
LIKES: Women of all kinds. Purebloods in general. Art. Classical music. Horsebackriding. Recreational dueling. Red and silver. Shakespeare. Fruit. Toffee. Herbal teas.
DISLIKES: Homosexual men. Celestina Warbeck's music. Frothy beverages. Green and yellow vegetables. Mundane business task, such as filling out forms and completing parchmentwork.
MENTAL HEALTH: Mild narcissistic personality disorder, in that he would fit most (but not all) of the DSM criteria were he being diagnosed by Muggle psychology.
PHOBIAS/FEARS: He is homophobic, but is a very hypocritical way, for it only applies to his opinion of homosexual/bisexual males.
SEXUAL PREFERENCE: Heterosexual. He loves the ladies without discrimination and the thought of being attracted to a bloke makes him ill. The thought of blokes being attracted to blokes period makes him ill. He does, however, enjoy lesbians.
TURN ONS: Breasts. Legs. Hands. Long hair. Short hair. Blondes. Brunettes. Redheads. Basically women. Light bondage (as the bonder, not the bondee). Blindfolds. Enchanted fabrics (in the place of feathers).
TURN OFFS: Men. Excessive abuse kinks (whipping, drawing blood and the like).

Connections

CHILDHOOD HOME: Wales
HISTORY: The second son of five children, Owen Jareth Gibbon was never pressed with the same sense of duty other pureblood children had in his formative years, for he had enough siblings to do the right and proper thing in being brilliant students and upstanding members of society and carrying on the family name. That is not to say he would not embody most of those very things as he grew, but he never felt forced to do so. Owen was, from birth, a golden child for he rarely cried, rarely misbehaved, was a loving sibling and always enchanted family and friends. Early on, however, it became clear to his parents that Owen was different than the rest of their children for reasons that would become clear as he grew.

The Gibbon family, a large Welsh pureblood family, never set much store in House stereotypes, so that their children went to three out of the four Houses was no surprise to them. That lack of single-mindedness about the Sorting process was passed on to their children, even Owen, though in his case it was trumped by his beliefs that he was better than pretty much everyone so it did not matter if they were one house of another. Slytherin, however, did fit him despite his Ravenclaw leanings, for the hallmark traits of the House of Slytherin were exemplified in him. He settled into this change in life easily without looking back on childhood.

School was a fantastic time for Owen, as it was clear early on that the female adoration from family and family friends he had received all his life was not just a familial fluke. He never truly went through a stage where girls were something dismaying and objectionable, simply went from being the pampered pet of pureblood women to the happy companion to their daughters. This was not a one-sided feeling, however, for Owen discovered at a young age he loved everything about women and thus was the precocious child and later teen that used his smooth-tongued ways to woo the young ladies in both polite ways and, of course, the ways that involved broom closets and empty classrooms. With a courtly manner that few others had, let alone mastered, he appealed to many and because of his open manner with all, happy to discourse at length on all topics, he was not without male friends as well.

He rarely found himself in trouble in school, though not for lack of disputes. In one notable encounter, some poor sod had the audacity to call Owen womanish over his clothing. It had long been known that Owen had a particular preference for only well-made magical clothing and did not want anything even remotely Muggle-made near him, even though, to the school at large he never seemed to have problems with halfbloods and Muggleborns. The foolish schoolmate even went so far to imply certain things about Owen's sexuality, something that young wizard soon learned was a grave error when he found himself hexed in the back one night and transported to the hospital wing for a, as Owen would have defined it to his friends later, nice holiday from schoolwork. Never again, unless one wished to annoy Owen like that, were his clothing requirements regarded as feminine or he a homosexual.

Feminine would actually be the last thing to fit Owen beyond his clothing quirk, for beyond his obvious delight in the fairer gender, he enjoys the outdoors, does not mind getting dirty (as he can always magic the dirt away) and was a very athletically involved individual in school, from dueling club to Quidditch and even flying in general all passions of his, as well at home with talents on horseback and in other outdoor wizarding activities. Taking several positions on the Slytherin Quidditch team throughout his school time, he sought to eventually secure a Captaincy. This was, however, denied him, but he still had both prefecture and Head Boyship to his name, positions he had earned with his personable nature and the appearance of minding all the rules. Unsurprisingly, he excelled at DADA, and the Dark Arts in private studies, but surprisingly he was very good with magical creatures as well and not only did brilliantly in the class, but enjoyed it as well.

It was at Hogwarts that Owen became clearly aware of the rising war. While his family was purist, they were quietly so, preferring to simply keep to their own kind and tolerating their 'inferiors' when necessary. Owen, however, could see how Hogwarts had changed from his parents time, the denial of academic subjects once taught to cater to the growing influx of children who knew nothing about magic. It was disappointing and frustrating, to be impaired because of others, and however amusing he might find these children, however pleasant he was with them, he was still resentful. Joining the group of students who eventually became Death Eaters, however, was not entirely about this resentment. It was about power, power Owen wanted, power he felt was his right. The Dark Lord, for that has always been how Owen has seen that wizard, and thus seen himself – the loyal knight to the Dark Lord's coming kingdom – was a source of attraction for Owen from the outset. Not sexually, of course, but for the power he wielded and the promises he made. Owen wanted it all, to him he deserved it all, and he was certain beyond a doubt that Voldemort was the means.

After Hogwarts, his professional choice was clear. A Ministry job would never have suited him, not the drudgery of a daily routine that never wavered in a drab office or maintaining law and order as an Auror. The arts had always appealed to his sense of aesthetics and so, with part of his inheritance, he opened O Antiquities and Trifles, a shop and consulting service that catered to all manner of witches and wizards with everything from antiques and art to the latest magical gadgets to even, though this aspect was never public knowledge, Dark items for his upscale private clientèle. There was likely not a good pureblood home, as well as homes of less than stellar bloodlines, that did not have at least one item Owen secured for them and some had even gone so far as to redo entire sections of their homes on his recommendations. He was not an interior decorator, of course, and any implication he was womanish in this degree as there had once been about his clothes would have resulted in a hex in the back as well; he simply had impeccable taste and, for those bored wives neglected by their husbands, many talents in bed.

He never married, however, for most of his choices for wives were women who either married well elsewhere or married very poorly and were cast out of pureblood society. A particular goal, the younger two Black sisters, was a frustrating defeat for him, for he took Andromeda's choice of a filthy blood as a personal insult, even thought she was likely not even aware of his dismay, and Narcissa choosing Lucius was a source of great jealousy. Malfoy was his contemporary in many ways, but of course Owen thought himself a far better wizard in every way, and being 'bested' again by Lucius (for the two had a history of competition in school) was a source of continual frustration. However, unlike with Andromeda, who was a lost cause, Narcissa never stopped being a potential catch for him. After all, some of the pureblood females who had married elsewhere were still happy to have him in their beds, why not her as well?

Never one to wear his purist beliefs like a badge on his chest that read 'Ask Me About The Death Eaters', Owen remained remarkably under the radar for someone so often in the limelight. No one would have suspected otherwise given his polite and often genial behaviour with all manner of differently-blood individuals. He continued to live his life throughout the First Wizarding War with two identities, his real life and his properly concealed 'extracurricular activities' and never the two met, not even when the Dark Lord was temporarily defeated and the Death Eaters exposed.

He was named, of course, but as part of a list of individuals who had no purist leanings at all, the entire group not even questioned more than circumspectly before the Ministry moved on to the 'real' Death Eaters. Avoiding Azkaban was never about a sense of loyalty, as he thought it would be a rather stupid show of loyalty to the Dark Lord to need to be freed later in order to resume his Cause. That the Dark Lord would return was never in doubt to him, for he had seen demonstrations of the dark wizard's power over the years and knew such power would not be easily silenced. After all, if it could be, Owen himself certainly would not be so loyal. Also, Azkaban? Prison robes would never be part of his wardrobe, and though it was a reason of extreme frivolity, Owen cleverly avoided Azkaban every time with this thought in mind.

The years after were profitable and enjoyable, but ultimately lacking for Owen as the remaining free Death Eaters wanted no part of new plans to continue on the Cause. It was disappointing and annoying, as how was the Cause to resume seamlessly when the Dark Lord returned? Ultimately, even Owen found the way the others had, a life spent talking about a better world but no actions to see it happen – that was, until word reached him of the Dark Lord's attempts to return. Immensely smug he had been right, he continued to watch the developments unfold and even participated in the pointless scare tactics, like at the World Cup, for he would not be left out.

One of the first to return the night the Dark Lord regained his body, he was intensely jealous that Pettigrew had been part of it in such a key fashion. Not that he was interested in losing a limb, mind you, even for his Lord, but it was a point in Pettigrew's favour that was not also in Owen's column, as was Barty's work for the Dark Lord and Quirrell's act for him years before. The Dark Lord was back and Owen wanted his place of importance once more, as he felt he rightfully should have had for believing where others had not and, of course, because of his own arrogance.

The next year moved slowly, but was not entirely uneventful, culminating in the battle in the Department of Mysteries. Once more, Owen escaped imprisonment, though barely this time, placing himself back in his store for a convenient alibi should he need it. There numbers minimize, the pressure on those still free was greater, but Owen rose to the challenge during his 'Death Eater hours' and continued a successful business venture the rest of the time. The waiting was frustrating, always, but once more he tolerated it as new plans were made to bring down the opposition. Though he was not entirely pleased to be attacking the school, as one of the less intelligent followers might strike down a pureblood student in the process, or a child would accidentally get in his way and ruin his perfect reputation thus far, he followed loyally as always, certain the night of the attack, when it finally came, would bring victory.

Casting the Dark Mark as part of the trap was a particular thrill, not because it was a trap but because he had always enjoyed the power involved in that spell. It was ultimately the last thrill of his life, for not long after he had rejoined the battle, he was struck down by one of his own comrades in arms. Accidentally, of course, but it will not be something Owen will privately forgive in his new life.

Astrological

SIGN: Slytherin Libra
Libra is the seventh sign of the zodiac and governs the kidneys, lower back, and buttocks. Positive traits include a rational, logical mind, a fine sense of aesthetics, diplomatic aplomb, good taste, charm, skill with words, intelligence, an innate sense of fairness and justice, and exceptional beauty. Negative characteristics include indecisiveness, excessive dependence on other people, conformist tendencies, manic depression, extravagance, and manipulation.

This combination of sun sign and House ought to be nicknamed "The Magical Corps of Diplomats." Slytherins born under this sign are poised, polished, suave, well read, well bred, and excruciatingly polite and correct in everything they do - the perfect gentry of the magical world. Never a bully or a bravo here! No, these Slytherins would say "I despise you and think your are worthless scum" and make it sound like "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways..." They are discreet, sympathetic, easy to talk to, and know how to put people at ease. This can, of course, be a wonderful asset in espionage (the flip side of diplomacy!) and these Slytherins are more than capable of hiding their true feelings in order to get information or befriend a rival. Because they need to act in partnership with others and hate to be alone, they are rarely decision makers, and must be careful who they seek to befriend, lest they be led astray into the wrong crowd. Slytherin Libras also ought to marry into money if they don't have much of their own, for their love of luxury and culture can make for extremely high maintenance expenses.

SUN/MOON: Libra Sun - Scorpio Moon
The combination of your Sun sign and your Moon sign denotes a nature that is independent of mind and action, thought and expression. You are both mentally quick and penetrating, with an absorbing curiosity. Thus, you are a ready student, precocious, and wanting to make rapid strides in the world. Your superb logic and analytical abilities are wrapped in a wave of emotionalism. You have a detective approach to things. Sneaking up on a question, figuring out what it is you want to achieve, and pouncing on it with full force. This is not a vague and undecided Libra. There is spice in your nature, excess and extremes in your actions. You have a strong sense of justice, and you can fly off the handle when you feel you have been treated unfairly. On the surface you can seem docile and amiable, but underneath you'll fight at the drop of a hat. You are a born idealist and rebel, a radical, always on the side of change, progress and novelty. You are an enthusiast in all matters, and have little time for people that pussy foot around and seem to lack conviction. Your interests are broad and sweeping...ideas, philosophies, the arts. So you're inclined more to the professions or the artistic, instead of a business career.
